This restaurant, located just a 5 to 8-minute walk from Zurich's central railway station, offers authentic Turkish cuisine that’s worth trying. We had shawarma, which was generously portioned and absolutely delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone craving Turkish food in Zurich!

Excellent Shawarma. Very fresh ingredients. Many options for vegetarians. Very modest price for Zürich area. Fast food atmosphere, not many seats. Many clients just buy for Take-Away. Very friendly staff. Very long queue at peak hours. The restaurant is open until quite late.

The shawarma at Al‑Mouchtar is pure romance on a plate. The wrap hugged the juicy, spiced meat like a warm embrace, while the sauces slid over my tongue in silky, tangy ribbons. Every bite was a flirtation of flavors — smoky, savory, just a hint of herbs — teasing, teasing, then melting into bliss. I swear the garlic whispered sweet nothings and the vegetables performed a delicate pirouette around the meat. I didn’t just eat it; I surrendered to it. Absolute love in edible form.

I had a fantastic experience at this place, the owners were very friendly, the food was fabulous, the environment was like a small local shop vibrant with people of all backgrounds. For the value this place was worth it, I had a beef & chicken wrap that was superb, my parents had the grilled plate with meat, veggies, & bread. The meals were served very swiftly, & definitely a place to go if you want something fast. All the items were top class. Loved this place highly recommend it!

I stopped by Al Mouchtar for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. The servers are very attentive, service is quick, and the place is clean, though there aren’t many tables and in summer it gets scorching hot inside (and the tables fill up fast at peak times). The shawarma is reasonably priced at CHF 10, quite cheap compared to other places. Portion wise, it’s a bit smaller than average, but still filling enough for a quick lunch. And dont expect the usual big durum stuffed with loads of veggies and shredded processed meat. Here, it’s different, it is filled with cucumber pickles, soft fried potatoes, veggies, and real chicken pieces! I opted for takeaway and enjoyed it just outside near Gleis 18, where there are plenty of public benches. For the price, quality, and taste, it’s a halal spot I keep coming back to. Definitely recommended!

The food was really good and the portions were generous. We got some free humus and baba ganoush with our mix grill platter, which was a nice surprise. The owner was super friendly and the service was top-notch.
